Don't you love it when you let go and let God do his miraculous wonders. Was talking to my daughter Taylor the other day. She is in Perth Australia on a mission trip with Youth With A Mission(YWAM) and she sais all we have to do is continue to do the possible so that God can do the impossible. That would be a lot of wisdom from a 20 year old.
So..about a month or so ago I received to different emails from two different people about an opportunity to do a 5K run/walk combined with a concert featuring a local Austin rock band called Feeding 5000. The 5K would be managed by RunTex Austin, the local running guru's. This would all occur on November 22nd just before Thanksgiving.
Met with members of the band Aaron Brown and Scott Graham (spiritual relation only) and Paul Carroza of RunTex this past week and it looks as though it is going to happen. The goal is to generate enough revenue to feed 5000 just like in the miracle of the multiplication of the loaves & fishes in the Gospels. Also, everyone wants a branded event that we can grow annually for years to come. What a perfect confluence of events for Mobile Loaves & Fishes. This will continue to empower us to change the world by changing peoples hearts especially how we look at the homeless and how we care for our spiritual family. This goes beyond charity and hits us right in the heart to transform our paradigm of how we view the homeless. Powerful! May the Lord bless Feeding 5000 the band and RunTex!
What an awesome event. I am so excited that MLF will have this opportunity to encourage spiritual and physical health in the name of our brothers and sisters in need.
